Biscuit aromas on the nose, with a palate that is savoury, rich and slightly nutty. Interesting and delicious Champagne from a highly respected small estate.

Made from the best parcels of Le Mesnil and younger vines from ‘Clos Cazals’. Always from a single vintage but it does not rest on its lees long enough to be declared as such.

Ripe, complex nose dominated by peach and minerals. Flavours of ripe peach and apricot. A very well made Champagne. The finish is toasty, tangy and long.'

The Pavillon wines are rich and harmonious and age beautifully. The southern exposure yields wines with soft tannins and a roundness on the palate.

This small 14 ha estate is owned and run by Patrick Dejean. The family Château is Rabaud-Promis in Sauternes run by Philippe Dejean. This is one of the best estates in Loupiac and is quite capable of ageing for 10 years or more.

This Cru Bourgeois has been carefully crafted and aged for a year in fine French oak. Intense blackcurrant character typical of the great 2001 vintage, drinking beautifully now through to 2009

The 2001 exhibits a dark purple colour along with a sweet nose of charcoal-infused black currant and cherry fruit mixed with damp foresty notes. Pure, ripe, medium bodied, deep and subtle.

The aromas of the 2004 vintage are subtle, and the nose reveals scents of blackcurrants and ripe fruit, with certain smoked and mineral qualities.
The mouth is already complex and intense and it will gain in precision and presence with age.

Showing distinctly Margaux perfume on the nose and cassis, mint, cedar, and soft spices on the palate. Good value drinking Claret

The Château La Gurgue is a typical Margaux; it is refined, elegant and well-bred. The finesse of tannins which are not harsh on the palate combines well with the elegant structure to create a lovely wine. This is a wine rich in aromas which lingers a long time on the palate

This Chateau has recently been re-classified as a Cru Artisan. Under the terms of the classification potential cru artisan wines have to be tasted and their estates evaluated by a jury of 11 wine professionals. This classification goes back to the 19th Century but had all but faded until the beginning of the 21st Century

Situated in the extreme south of the Pauillac appellation, Château Haut-Batailley benefits from the care taken by the Grand Puy Lacoste team. Plummy and smoky notes characterise the 2004. A few years in the cellar will benefit this lovely wine.

Lovely texture on the palate, though with moderate acidity and a full rounded style. Lots of ripe tannin behind layers of succulent black fruits. As with the Haut Batailley great potential given a little patience.
